Basic Horticulture Workshops

 

 


Do you love to garden but are disappointed with your results?  Maybe you’re a beginner and lack basic knowledge, or an experienced gardener looking for more challenging projects.  Do you want to learn more from the experts about specific plants and techniques that work in Marietta? Then this workshop series is for you. The Marietta Council of Garden Clubs, Inc., is proud to introduce our 2011 series of Horticulture Workshops.  These workshops are for the avid gardener new to gardening or experienced.  Each workshop will include a presentation by 1-3 presenters that specialize in the specific topic either well known or professional.  The Saturday begins at for registration, for the formal presentation, a break for lunch (which is included) and then a private tour of a local garden or nursery.  Some of the locations will have plants for sale.  The workshops will be held once a month at the Marietta Educational Garden Center,

.  There will be no test, no volunteer hours required, no overnight stays, and no commitment to extended sessions.  These workshops are a great way to improve your gardening skills and meet others interested in gardening.

 

  

 

October 22, 2011: Vegetable Gardening

 

 The first workshop will be October 22, 2011 and the speakers are Cobb County Master Gardeners: Susan Dawsey and Amy Whitney speaking on Vegetable Gardening and then we will tour The Garden of Mr. Hankerson and Mr Kastner.


November 12, 2011: New Plant Cultivars

Price: $30 per session.

  

Take as many as you like.

 

 Get a certificate if you complete six of the seven sessions offered.
